  • how long......?

after i apply nxt wax how long should i wait till i buff it off?
should i wait till it haze or wait half an hour?

Usually in ideal conditions you can wait 15 minutes and then wipe it off. If you put too much on or if it is humid though NXT may not cure in 15 minutes so you may have to wait longer. The safest thing to do is the finger test or the swipe test some call it. Apply NXT and wait the 15 minutes and wipe a small spot with your finger. If it smears it is not ready to be removed.

I put the NXT on all over the car then go back to my starting place and buff off. Timing seems to be just right. If i just do the hood and trunk deck i wait about 30 minutes.

I have left it on as long as 2 hours don't think it helped improve the finish any but even with the length of time it was still easy to remove. Now I stick with the 15 min as it states on the bottle.

          Hey,

I have been down this road before. I would follow the NXT's label instructions and wait the 10-15 minutes before removal. From my understanding, the amount of waiting time was chosen based on tests conducted by the Meguiar's chemists. Therefore, I would follow their direction to get the best results.

I think this is a lot of the reason why we are seeing some people complain about hazing after wiping it off. They are just not waiting until it is cured before wiping it off.

            Tim,

I do think though the time to wait was based on applying it following the directions and in that nice California weather If you apply it too thickly it will take longer than the 10-15 minutes for it to come off without just smearing all over the paint. I have also found the same to be true if you are applying it when there is high humidity out.

              Hey Bob,

While I agree fully with your comments, I was given clear direction from the chemists that the amount of time listed should be adhered to.

Now with that said, you are very correct about the location and the differences in the weather! I experience very different weather here than Mike in Cali. or you in your area. As such, *I* have had to adjust many parameters to get the products to work the best in my particular situation.
