  • NXT Spray Wax Opinions

I'm interested in hearing what you all have to say about NXT Spray Wax.

Personally, I never bought into the hype of spray wax when it hit the consumer shelves at the stores. I always viewed it as an 'inbetween step' to add a slight amount of protection and a little more 'pop' before you could get to your next application of a good carnauba.

With the introduction of NXT Spray Wax, I've taken note of new technologies and a slightly different approach and paradigm on use of this product. It seems that this product is made to actually compliment the NXT wax...

I'm interested in hearing your opinions.... How are you using it? Is this product replacing your detailer spray?

The above is a good summary. Meguiar's spray waxes, Quik Wax and NXT Spray Wax are meant to be used as booster wax to the wax you have already applied. The turn the surface darker, slicker, and more clear than a quick detailer can do by itself.

They are chemcially compatible, and do compliment each other very nicely.

Just a note here, NXT Spray Wax, and Meguiar's Quik Wax are not replacements for quick detailers like Quik Detailer, or Final Inspection. Both of these two spray waxes are intended to be used on surfaces that are clean and free of accumulated dirt or dust.

Only use NXT Spray Wax on a clean car, or after first washing, or wiping down with a quick detailer.

Sho' nuff'. Thanks Mike. That does clear it up.

I've always been slightly confused as to the application of said products because they seemed to almost directly compete with QD products. I now see the light...

      Thanks again bud...

        Mike....

Will there be a NXT QD (besides NXT Spray Wax) to compliment the NXT Wax in the near future?

        Thanks,
        Chris

I used the spraywax on my already nxted car worked good.I used a foam applicator my only thought is They made the nxt tech wax so easy to use on&off why not just do a coat of it.The spray wax would be good for carshows.

Used Spray wax over my NXTd hood

Works great! I used a foam pad to apply, as well. Take off after hazy with microfiber. The effect is more shine and slicker feel. It gives the already wet an additional "Pop". It is getting almost too bright and reflective, Wow! Amazing stuff, both Tech Wax and Spray Wax.

We'll it's been money well spent for NXT tech wax ($13.25) and NXT Spray Wax ($4.35). Maybe I will try the NXT car wash next.

                    :p

Alexandra, you will love the NXT Car Wash. The rinse water rolls right off and it just about eliminates water spotting. Leaves a slick surface and it has anti-static properties too.

After having tried the Spray Booster Wax on a wet surface I prefer to use it on a dry surface. The SBW takes a lot longer to dry when used right after washing. If you try to remove it too soon it is harder to wipe off. Waiting longer to wipe it off will fix that problem though. I have a Trans Am WS6 with all the curves and water wants to drip, drip, drip from crevices so that is a factor when using SBW on a wet surface.

If you wait for it to totally dry, it is easy to remove and gives the same great results. I just don't see any advantage to using it that way. Any wet surfaces that SBW is applied to will definitley not water spot even if you wait an hour to wipe it off though. So if you cannot completely dry your car off for some reason there may be an advanage to applying SBW.

Overall, I prefer to use SBW on dry paint, It's easier to use that way IMHO. It could be that my SBW wet surface technique needs some refinement. We need to have Mike or Tim try it and see if they can discover some secret to that method.

                        NXT wash...

                        HI RamAirV1
I was wondering what is so special about that NXT car wash. The ability to run off water after the wash is a real helper. I will give that a try, as well. I am really beginning to think that the NXT line is really well though out. I like using the spray wax on dry surfaces as well. It is a goopy kind of wax, like a watery paste. Its faster than tech wax but slower than final inspection. The results from tech wax makes it well suited for use between washes to maintain the NXT "Pop". There are still parts of my car that could use some more tech wax. I am going for that perfect mirror appearance on all panels of the car. Its a tough goal as the car is used as a daily driver, I have to be very creative in order to keep it in the garage for over a day...

I agree with your description of SBW with respect to its viscosity and ease of use. And I can relate to the daily driver factor too. Add a black finish and curves and crevices and it requires more dilgence to keep it looking great. But.....it's all worth it. My TA is too much of a blast to drive to make it a garage queen.

You need to get some Final Detail. It works great with NXT. Final Inspection is good but Final Detailer takes QDs to another level. It offers a noticeable increase in gloss and slickness over FI (#34).

Final detail, thanks for the tip

I always thought that FI is the best out there, but I have not tried final detail yet. I will get a jug of it as well. With my pending tests with Klasse, I hope that NXT wash and final detailer is compatible with Klasse which is acrylic based, as I am spending more than I originally intended on NXT. NXT has not dissapointed me for one moment yet. Nevertheless, part of the fun is in finding and using the best stuff, and so the tests must go on, and on and on.

Mike would know for sure, but I think the NXT Car Wash and FD should work just fine with Klasse. BTW, I think the Klasse AIO and SG are very good products. I stayed with MPPP because I wanted to stay within one mfr's product line. Otherwise Klasse would have been my next choice.
