  • What to use to shammy (dry) after wash?

I washed my ride w/the shampoo and conditioner and i used the microfiber towels but it doesnt seem to work to well for me. It took me more time to dry the car w/the towel than to wash the car. Am I using the towel wrong? The towel also never seems to be fully dry. Where am I going wrong with this problem? Any help would be great.

    THANKS
    SK

I assume you meant the GOld Class Shampoo.. thats good stuff.

If you used the Supreme Shine MF towel, then you are correct, this isnt going to work very well.

The best towel in my opinion is the Water Magnet Drying Towel. Two should dry the car easily, and then have a few older terry towels for door jambs, etc.

Keep in mind a waxed car is also easier to dry, and try to use the hose to flow most of the after off before drying.

They say you can wring out a Water Magnet, and keep going. I find it is a pain.

As I mentioned, I try to keep the car waxed, and then flow the most of the water off. Then, I can usualy get around the car with one Water Magnet to dry the big spots, then a second for a final wipe.

You can wash Supreme Shines and Water Magnet Towels together, but wash Microfiber towels seperately from regular cotton towels.

I have washed mine gently for a year now at least, and dont see a loose thread yet.

Well, my car is a daily driver, left outside, in a bit of a dusty area. So fairly often.

I tend to do the full steps, like in the link, about twice a year.

Then, maybe every 2 months, give or take, I will clay if needed, use ColorX ( a one-step cleaner/wax), and then a top coat of Nxt.

I try to wash every week or so, and follow up with a Spray Wax or Quick Detailer.

              ACCORDING TO YOU:

go through all the steps twice a year

every two months use the clay bar and the colorx and top coat of nxt ( Need info about the coat of nxt)

and wash every week w/spray wax or detailer. so when i got thru the 5 steps what kind of wax do i use?

THANKS FOR THE HELP. Im new with all this info

Keep in mind, my way works good, but there are also plenty of other options. One of the best things about Meguiars is all the options, but one of the hardest things for new folks is all the options.

Depending on your environment, you may get more or less endurance out of waxes, but that routine works for me. The big thing is to make sure something covers all 5 steps when you detail. You'll notice even when I short cut things with the ColorX, all the steps are covered.

I assume your question is which of the many waxes works best for the wax step?

I like the Nxt wax, because of the durability. It might lose its gloss a little faster than some waxes though. which is one reason I use a spray wax after washing.

However, Gold Class, #26 Hi-Tec Yellow, or Deep Crystal #3 are alo all good choices. #21 is also a nexcellent product.
