  • NXT Tech Protect attracts dust?

I've noticed over the past few applications of the Tech Protect on my interior is that it tends to attract dust. And since the Tech Protect does have a slight greasy nature the dust also tends to stick to it. This is even with a light coat of the product applied with a mf towel and then a swipe with another dry mf towel afterwards.

Anyone else have this problem? Its a bit of an annoyance and I may have to try another product for my interior.

I'll pass your feedback onto the appropriate person here at Meguiar's.

I have noticed a similar thing on my vinyl bed cover. I get some serious static electricity while applying a protectant to it. That may be part of the reason(static electricity) dust likes my be cover. I can not say yes its from the NTX prot. or not, its the only protectant I have used on my bed cover, I have nothing to caompare to.

For me, I have used Tech Protect and Natural Shine as well as some products by other vendors. I get dust with everything.

I used to think that certain products were the cause but just lived with it. Over time I just kind of decided that dust collects anywhere. Once I clean something and don't see any dust, then the next dat or 2 I will start noticing the dust collecting on the clean surface. Well, It sticks out like a sore thumb because I just cleaned it. The same thing happens in my house. I can dust off a coffee table and get it totally dust free but if I look at it again in a few hours I will likely see dust collecting on it.

I guess some products could build up a static charge will rubbing the product on the surface. But I really have not seen where any one product really seems to cause me any more grief than another when it comes to the dust. Just gives me a good excuse to clean something anyway.

The only other product I've used on my interior besides the NXT was a bottle of Westley's Vinyl protectant (which they don't even make anymore...lol). It's not greasy and doesn't really attract dust and for the most part does a good job but it doesn't smell good. So I thought I'd give the NXT a try.

Here is another thought for your interior: Quik Interior Detailer. This works very well to clean and leaves a matte finish. I think its a great product, no greasy feel at all. The only down side is there is very little UV protection. But overall very good product. on the interior I go back and forth between QID and NXT protectant. Bed cover is always NXT.

Thanks, I'll pick up a bottle of the Quik Interior at the local Auto Zone and give it a shot.

Hmmm...that's weird. I've applied NXT Tech Protect on my dashboard and there's no sign of dust anywhere.

Here are pics of my interior after using NXT Tech Protect on the dash and Gold Class Rich Leather Wipes on the steering wheel and shift boot:
