NXT Liquid Tech Wax

Yeah, unfortunately some prep may be needed, but you'll have to inspect. Luckily, the Consumer Cleaner/Wax is very mild, though it wont remove swirls.

My new car came with no swirls last year, so I was lucky, and the surface felt pretty smooth. But prepping the paint with clay/cleaner/polish before waxing just took it to another level.

I have a bottle of #82 swirl free polish. Will that be okay?

Also, I am sure that there are times when it gets below freezing in my garage. Has it ruined my stuff?

Well, just being below freezing doesnt mean your products have frozen. It is when they freeze that they will end up separating when warmed back up. Meguiars products wont freeze at 32 deggrees. But they will freeze at some point, so you want to be carefull with them so you dont waste them.

And #82, even applied by hand, should be a nice mild prep step. Remember, Meguiars cleaner/polishes arent supposed to dry before removal.

The important thing to remember is to move your car care products to a place that does not drop down to freezing temperatures to start with.

If you think your products have froze for any length of time, you can always test the product by shaking it up well and then try a small portion to see how it performs, if it looks normal and works as normal, then it's probably okay to continue to use.

Hope this doesn't sound too stupid, but what is the best way to accomplish this? Do you just do like half a panel or hood and then wipe it off quickly? Is it better to have another person wiping it off right behind you?

Having two people is always nice... Sort of following a minute behind kind of thing.

But if you are on your own, yes, you may have to do a panel, or half a panel, depending on the conditions. If it is the right temperature/humidity, you may be able to do a whole side. Just have to base it on your conditions.

Also, remember not to wipe too quickly with yoru hand. Some people will kind of wipe real fast like petting a dog fast or something. This doesnt give the towel a chance to absorb the excess product, whether it is cleaner/polish/wax. Kind of have to wipe at little above medium speed.

Thanks for all the info, Mur1525. I will probably give it a shot tomorrow although we are expecting snow and a high temp of around 29. It should be in the mid-50's in the garage.

Well, I did get it washed and with the cold and all I just applied the NXT alone. I figured it was better to have at least some protection against the snow/salt. When it warms up, I will do the whole process. Even though the car is new, the surface was NOT smooth and probably needs to be clayed or maybe just cleaned. For the cleaning step, I was thinking that maybe the #82 that I have is a little too much? Would a better, more milder alternative be the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner or ScratchX (which I already have)?

Well, #82 is actualy a pretty mild cleaner polish. It should work fine by hand.

Only use ScratchX on swirls/scratches you want to remove, not regular cleaning. It ***** for regular use, lots of weork involved.

The DC#1 is a cleaner only, very mild, goes on nice and easy.

I would use DC#1 or #82 for regular cleaning. The #82 would let you skip the polishing step if you wanted, esp on a light colored car.
