Durability of NXT wax

I totally agree that NXT wax do not last.

I have changed over from the Japanese ion wax to NXT wax after hearing good feedback from NXT wax.

However the first application of NXT don't seem last long. So after 3 weeks, I started to apply the the NXT wax again. It seem like after 2 washes, the wax seem to come off. Therefore this time round to confirm that the NXT wax has come off totally, I did the Squeak Test as mentioned by Mike and truely enough it FAILED the test. I am really a bit disappointed with this and now I am considering to change back to the Japanese ion wax which always last me for about a month with weekly washes.

What steps did you take to prepare the paint before the application of the NXT Tech Wax?

The steps I used :

1) Wash
2) Polish
3) Apply Paste Wax
4) waited 30 mins and bluff off

Normally you get the smooth feeling on the paint after wax. However after 1 washes, the smooth feeling will disappear.

Those are very good points you make, so the REAL question would be, IS water beading (or buttery smooth) a sign of paint protection like we've been led to believe, or is it another old wives tale

I've only started to use NXT on my daily driver, but rainy season has passed, so I can't really say how long it's gonna last.

30 minutes seem alrite....

as compare to the Japanese ion wax, it is still easier to remove......but with much white little particles, maybe cos I applied too thick.

anyway, the wax still pretty easy to rmove after 30 minutes

is M21 a sealant? is it the same as M20?
Cos there is only M20 here, M21 can't be found locally.

Also is the application & removal of M20 same as NXT paste wax?

Are they the same...kind but not really.
M21 is a fully synthetic polymer (new cutting edge technology).
M20 is a polymer w/some natural wax's etc. w/ a little bit of a cleaner in it.
Saying that, Im doing a side by side test on the hood of my F250. For several weeks now they both blow away NXT and seem to be neck and neck. Time will tell.
M20 I belive a much older product, but it's a pleasure to work with.
M21 wants a longer time to set up (not much though), ya want to apply it very thin and it goes a loooong way...it has a SUPER long lasting slick feel to it (like nothing else I've used).
And both offer a deep long lasting wet shine, giving a slight shine edge to M21.

PS one thing I did notice w/21... Dead bug juice/guts simply wipe and almost fall off the front of my bumper cover! And water spots don't seem to have a chance of etching into the surface...thus far I want to see what happens with road salt

It's odd that some people get lame durability, yet others find it lasts forever. I personally have found it to be exceptionally durable on my car, assuming that beading is a sign that it's still there and working.

These pictures were taken this morning after last nights rain. The car was prepped with #80 and had one coat of NXT about two months ago. I've done nothing to it since except wash it weekly with Hyper Wash.

Just like to know, how is the application and removal of M#20?

It is the same as NXT Paste Wax?
I am worry about the bluffing process for sealant. Cos I had a very bad experience on the QMI sealant once. Which practically take me about 2 hours plus to bluff my car after application.

If M#20 is as simple to bluff off as NXT Paste Wax, I may consider changing to use M#20 rather than NXT Wax.
Need feedback from you guys & gals that had used M#20 before. Thanks in advance.

Both 20 and 21 simply buff off...no issues, no drama.
I just did the second application on the hood of my F250 since way back in the begining of November. My hood didn't appear to need any attention, but I wanted to try these two in cold weather. IN THE COLD...brrrrr...after some 10 minutes set-up time and in direct sunlight both products came off easly!
I did do a swipe test to make sure both products were infact all the way dry.
Try the M21 or M20...2 very good products again with a very slight edge to #21

The real secret to easy wipe off of any Meguiar's wax is to apply a thin coat. If you apply a thin coat, allow the wax to fully dry before wiping it off, it should in most circumstances wipe off easily assuming you use a quality wiping cloth.

That said, M20, applied using a thin coat is probably one of the easiest waxes I've ever removed in my entire life. It wipes off easy. M21 and the rest of our waxes also do wipe off easy.

In most cases, the wipe off of a paste wax like NXT Tech Wax Paste has more to do with how thick the wax coat is that was applied, for some people applying a thin coat of a paste wax is more difficult than applying a thin coat of a liquid wax and herein is the true root of any issues as far as difficulty of wipe off goes.

Hi bro, me from bedok. Seriously I find the NXT really cmi. Over here it costs a bomb and once kena heavy rain, thats it man. The paintwork becomes "siap siap" as though no protection. I clayed, polish and apply the NXT like you. Dunno whether its the climate here or wat siah. Anyway I find it bo hua for that price. Each time it rains I must top up with the spray wax, cant tahan. Very siong and sometimes streak.

Got once I coat 2 layers of NXT over 2 days. 3rd day kena an hour of showers. Got home to wash car and the smooth feeling gone liao. I got half bottle left I pass it to a friend. I think GC lcan tahan longer man...
