  • What is meg's most durable wax?

I'm going to be detailing for a couple of people, and I mainly want the longest lasting wax Meg's makes. Look is secondary to that.

Basically I want the best protection for paint for non-enthusiast people.

Consider one of the paint sealants. They're not "just wax" and seem to last far longer. #20 and #21 are the ones you can search the forum to find info on.
See the big picture, enjoy the details

          good advice.

Don't forget that NXT Tech Wax is a great sealant too.

I agree, #20, #21 and NXT would be my top choices when it comes to maximum durability and best protection for paint.

Remember part of the durability comes from surface prep.

If you are doing several cars, on a routine basis, #21 could be the best choice, IMO.

Since this is for non-car crazy people, using something like #66, a cleaner/wax, can be a quick way to get good paint prep. Followed up with #21 would be a perfect 2-step process for the average Joe.. or Joey....

#16 isn't produced for the US market any more. It's very scarce since most stores are sold out.

That is also a big key in lasting wax.

Ok these were the steps I was looking at doing:

                      1) Wash with NXT wash
                      2) Clay
                      3) possibly rinse the car down again depending on the amount of junk that comes off
                      4) Either DC1 or ColorX
                      5) Sealant

                      Sounds fine?

Sounds good... IMO its a good idea to wash after clay, you never know when something that may scratch the paint is still sitting on the surface and a quick wash will just add some extra insurance. If time allows or your arms don't give out you could also apply a polish after the DC1 or ColorX step then go to sealant. Just food for thought! Good luck let us know how it turns out, post some pics if you can!

Sounds like you have a good process.. Just for me personaly, I would do either:

                          4. DC#1
                          5. DC#2
                          6. Sealant

                          Or

                          4. ColorX
                          5. Sealant

Just remember that how you care for your finish and enviromental conditions will ultimately decide on how long a sealant or wax will protect your car.

The Dallas area is very forgiving since we have no acid rain or industrial fallout to speak of. I can get 3-4 months of good beading with #26 or NXT but someone in the northeast with harsh winter weather, fallout from heavy industry, etc may only get half that.
