  • What Kind of Water to Dilute Glass Cleaner?

Are you guys just using tap water to make up the Detailer Glass Cleaner? Or distilled/deionized? Opinions?

  • #2
I always use distilled to dilute anything other than APC. The way I see it, especially with glass cleaner you don't want any minerals or other possible contaminants from the tap causing water spots.

That was my thought, as well. So you use distilled for dressings (Hyper Dressing, etc.), also?

        Speaking of glass cleaner, which would you all say is a better product when it comes to no streaks or haze, along with performance;

        Stoner's Invisible Glass

        NXT Generation Glass Cleaner

        Meguiar's Detailer Glass Cleaner Concentrate

I currenlty use Stoner's and love the outcome of the windows. I have yet though to try any of the Meguiar's Glass care products.

          Hi there,

I use CLEAR water myself , just kidding, I just use tap water but our water tends to be soft as opposed to the hard water they have in England

Yep, I do. It isn't all that much more expensive for the distilled versus what I pay out of the tap, so I figure its worth a few cents to "do it right"

The detailer is the best of the Meguiar's ones I've tried... I don't like Stoner's in the Aerosol, though the spray bottle stuff is alright.

Personally, my preference goes to Eagle One 20/20 in the spray bottle. At least for my own cars.

Customer vehicles get the Meg's detailer stuff. It works well and is cheaper.

I use tap water, but I have very soft water were I am at. I have used them all when it comes to glass cleaners. I personally use Meguiars detailer line for my customers as well as my own vehicle. I like the NXT as well, just no reason for it since I have great results (and smell) with detailer line. The Stoners is ok, but when the glass is really dirty, I found it didn't have nough cleaning power.

I once detailed a mercedes and the lady requested for me
to only use water to clean the windows .

so I used filtered water in a spray bottle then a zwipe to
dry them and they looked good afterward.
