  • Pure Polishes?

    #3 Machine Glaze
    #5 New Car Glaze
    #7 Show Car Glaze
#81 Body Shop Professional Hand Polish

All of these are listed under the "pure polish" category.

    What are their differences?

I have read that #7 and #81 are similar. In what ways are they different? I have also read that #7 is listed at 0 and #81 at 1 on the abrasive scale?

What are the comparisons of the 4 polishes listed above?

Can any be applied over a polymer sealant or do they need to be on bare paint?

    Thanks

    Hi blonzz,

Somewhere on our forum, the answers to these questions and even more related questions have been answered already. Let me see if I can use the Search button and find the thread instead of re-typing all of this information again.

    What are you working on?

      Hello Mike,

I am not working on anything at the moment. I will be working on several cars as the cooler weather rolls in.

You helped me out greatly in my first post a month ago. Looking for a show quality shine?

I just wanted a little more information on your pure polishes?

Also my Gold 442 currently has 8 coats of a polymer sealer that was applied last year. I want to experiment with somthing different this year. Can I apply #7 or #81 and top it with a pure carnauba paste? Or would you recommend striping the sealer first?

      Thanks,
      John

Ahh yes... now I remember! Nice cars!

The finish on this car looks awesome in the picture but I understand the desire to experiment and work on the paint. If you want to experiment with a pure polish and perhaps a different wax, then it would be a good idea to start with a fresh base.

If you want to do all of your work by hand, then pick up a bottle of either Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner, or M09 Swirl Remover 2.0 and apply this product using a clean, soft foam applicator pad or a microfiber applicator pad like our new Even Coat Applicator pad and work it in well like applying a skin lotion to dry skin and then remove it as you move around the car.

After this, apply an application of a pure polish, two good choices would be either the Deep Crystal Polish or the M81 Hand Polish. Apply much the same way except after applying and working in a paint cleaner, applying a pure polish doesn't have to be worked as much, just a thoroughly applied thin coating.

Again, remove this as you work around the car as paint cleaners, cleaner/polishes nor pure polishes need to dry before removing.

After this apply 2 thin coats of your choice of wax, here are some recommendations,

        Gold Class
        NXT
        M26
        M21
