  • Questions About Detailer Line Products

    Hello everyone!!

On the autodetailingsolutions site is says that megs final inspection is concentrate. Does that mean you dilute it? If so then what is everyone using it as.

I am looking for a new APC. Is the green apc not strong enough for tires? What are some common dilutions for this product?

Lastly What dilutions does everyone like for the wheel brightener?

    Thanks

I was unaware that it was dilutible. I have always used #34 straight from the bottle. On the other hand Last Touch can be diluted for use as a clay lubricant. I use APC for cleaning tires all the time. For most interior work and light exterior work, 10:1 is a great ratio. For heavily soiled areas such as engines, tires, and stains, 4:1 can be used. The detailer line bottles have the dilution marks right on them so it really helps.

I'll have to look into Rick's copy, but I've never heard that Final Inspection is dilutable. Last Touch is dilutable for using as a clay lubricant 1:1 with water.

I am looking for a new APC. Is the green APC not strong enough for tires? What are some common dilutions for this product?
      Read this,

      Meguiar's New Detailer Line

APC is plenty strong for cleaning tires... from the below thread,

1973 Maserati Bora - Extreme Makeover

For this makeover, because the wheels were so griming looking, I new that unless we make the sparkling clean again, they would do nothing but distract from the over beauty of this classic European sports car. So first up was to use the Gold Class All Wheel Cleaner to get the wheels clean.

We started by spraying the All Wheel Cleaner onto the wheel. We started spraying at the bottom of the wheel first, and then working our way upward. This is a technique Pro's use to reduce any potential for streaking or staining in case concentrated wheel cleaner were to have an adverse reaction to the wheel, or to the combination of built-up grime on the wheel.

Next we agitated the wheel cleaner into the wheel to help it dissolve, loosen and emulsify years of built-up road grime and brake dust.

Then we rinsed the wheel clean with water from a pressure washer and repeated the process. When wheels are extra grimy, and the dirt has been there for years, you will often find two applications of wheel cleaner will work better than just once. The first application will remove a majority of the built-up grime, the second application will be able to go right after the remaining, tougher and more resistant build-up. Again, for best results, agitate with a quality wheel brush.

After rinsing the second application, we tackled the tires. For this we used a product from Meguiar's Professional Detailer line called All Purpose Cleaner.

After spraying the tires down, we agitated the cleaner against the rubber tire for a really clean tire.

After working the tire over good with the brush and the All Purpose Cleaner, we rinsed both off thoroughly.

And here are the finished results...

Lastly What dilutions does everyone like for the wheel brightener?

      Thanks

        Thanks Mike.

I had a little confusion there I really ment last touch instead of final inspection. With the LT if you dilute it 1:1 for clay wont it be not nearly as slick and lubricated as full strenght? When everyone is using it as a qd do they go full strength?

What is everyones opinion. Should I by APC and the wheel brightener? In the past I have had a different brand of APC and my dilution was 10:1. I coudl do wheels, wheel wells, and tires with this. Any suggestions?

Thanks Everyone for all your tremendous help.

As a quick detailer, use Last Touch at full strength.
For claying, use Last Touch diluted by half with water.

The reason you need to dilute Last Touch by half with water is because at full strength it's too slippery and hinders your clay bar from removing above surface bonded contaminants.

Here of late, I've been diluting Final Detail with distilled water @ 25/75 (75% water).

FD is rather slick to say the least.

                    Yes.

                    Dilution: (Water : Degreaser)
                    Heavy-Duty Degreasing 4:1
                    Medium-Duty Degreasing 10:1

To be on the safe side, use this product at 10:1

Agitate before rinsing with a tire brush like our new one in the Gold Class Accessory line then rinse. If need, apply a second application.
