  • Perma Plate= #20?

Hi guys, i've always have this question, is Perma Plate the one that offers your delear ship for thousand bucks the same protection as a polymer or synthetic wax? i dont know maybe like the #21 or #20?

Oh and besides i have used all the stuff i ordered #85 #84 #83 #80 sand papers wool cuttign pad and morron pad, they work very good!!!!

I sanded just the hood and trunk of a car, and well i was experimenting a bit haha with the compounds, and well i sanded with 2000 then with the maroon pad and #84 but it wasnt fast as i wanted, it removed the sand marks but after a long tiem buffing, so i decided to use the cutting pad at 1500 rpms with #85 adn damn it cutted so fast plus giving me an almost swirl free finish so i went straight to polish with a white pad and #80 and it was good!!!besides this was a white car i think on a black car i might use DACP with a yellow pad and afterwards #80 with white, i dont know but i need to experiment a lot more with the products hehe

Perma-Plate's website says nothing at all about the product itself. There's nothing to indicate whether it is or is not a wax, sealant or non-dairy creamer. Mainly, they gush on about how wonderful they are.

What's especially entertaining is how unwary consumers and let's just say optimistic dealers blather about how it lasts forever and eliminates the need for such old-fashioned practices as washing and waxing.

    To quote from Perma-Plate's website:

"Once the Perma-Plate protection system has been professionally applied to your new vehicle, just normal maintenance will keep it in tip-top shape."

Um, doesn't normal maintenance keep any finish in tip-top shape?

"Perma-Plate Renewer should be applied every six months or 7500 miles, whichever occurs first. Darker colors may require more frequent applications"

Gee, that sounds strangely like what every wax company says to do.

I called on a Lexus dealership in Portland Oregon that applied this for around $600.00 (Ouch!), the detailers in their detail shop hated the salespeople for selling customers this paint protection system to their customers because in most cases, the customer will end up bringing the car back in less than 30 days complaining that the Perma Plate system didn’t hold up to their expectations. The detailers would then apply a traditional wax.

Perma Plate is likely just some type of polymer/silcone wax.

I know it's important to make a profit, but I don't see how some people sleep at night.
