I'm wondering if a 2pk of DMC cutting discs is usually sufficent to handle a whole vehicle with moderate/severe oxidation. I found that while correcting the last vehicle I did [red Tacoma] so much grime was caking onto my white LC foam polishing pad, that even with cleaning on the fly after each application with a clean terry cloth towel, I had to switch pads after just the hood, fender and passenger door. It was seriously caked. [this is after cleaning the pad, right before I decided to switch in a fresh 1]

Now the DMC discs are cleaned a totally different way using that stiff pad brush or compressed air if you have it handy.. My question is, do they clean up endlessly if one cleans the disc with that brush after every application of compound? Or do they suffer the same, sometimes limited longevity of a foam pad? Is a 2 pk. enough for an enthusiast/noob detailer to survive on for a bit? Or is it too fine a line to not have more than 1 DMC cutting disc on deck?
