Question about #80 - Does it contain heavy fillers?

Amazing how easy M83 is to use with the right technique!

Both of these products are cleaner polishes that utilize diminishing abrasives and our trade secret polishing oils. M80 has the least cutting ability of the two, but also the highest volume of polishing oils. There two products used to be our go-to products in our Saturday Detailing 101 Classes before the introduction of Ultimate Compound in the Consumer Line a few years ago. We now use UC because it's easier for people to source at their local auto parts store, it offers even greater defect removal ability than either M80 or M83, and it uses the latest non diminishing (SMAT) abrasives as found in our M105 Ultra Cut Compound. In fact, UC is derived directly from M105.

Of course, that does NOT mean that M80/M83 are no longer viable products. They worked beautifully back before UC, and they still do today. If you find you the extra cutting ability of M83 over M80 - a test spot will tell you this - then you should use M83 for defect correction. Whether you then need to follow with M80 will depend totally on how the paint responds to the M83. In many cases you do not need to follow M83 will a less aggressive product, but should it haze the paint even slightly, then M80 is a great follow up. In fact, M80 should so quickly clean up any haze that might be caused by M83 that you'll get through that step in very little time. With either pad, we'd recommend using a polishing pad rather than a cutting pad, although M80 could even be used with a finishing pad if it's used as a final finishing polish or follow up to M83.

What is it that you're working on? If you're looking to remove swirls from a modern clear coat finish with a DA, you'll likely find Ultimate Compound to be the superior choice over either of these. Of course, if you already have both of these on hand, and don't really want to ignore them and purchase something else, then use them as mentioned above and you should still be able to get excellent results.
