  • Plastic Cleaner

    Hi!!
Does someone know if M1808 is safe on motorcycle helmet shields??? The problem with the shields is that most of them have anti-fog and/or Anti-reflection coats.
I normally clean the exterior side of the screen with Plastx, but I avoid chemicals in the interior side because I dont know if these products damage the coats.
    Thanks!!!

use a small amout of an APC (all pourpuse cleaner)
I would spray 1 squirt of APC on a damp mft.
Anything needing a stronger cleaner I would use a Plastic cleaner.

Some glass cleaner should be fine also.

                  ^^^ You'd think, but no.
most glass cleaners have some form of Alcohol in them.
Acrylic and Alcohol don't mix. so over time the Alcohol will break down the acrylic and it will shatter into little pieces.
                  stick with a mild soap/APC

                    Re: Plastic Cleaner

My new glasses (acrylic lenses) have an anti-glare coating on them and I was told never to use window cleaner or paper towels to clean them. They said to stick with soapy water and a soft cloth otherwise I would strip off the anti-glare/anti-scratch coatings. I had a friend who would never clean his face shield with ANYTHING but clear water and a cotton cloth.
