Re: m205 &rotary
If you use a rotary buffer then your technique has to be adjusted. You can't apply product the same way like with a dual action polishers.
1. Use 10 at 10 technique - lay a bead of product (6"-8") on paint surface, adjust your rotary polisher to a slow speed, turn it on, lift left end of your buffing pad about 10 degrees (with right side touching paint surface) and pick up product bead by moving a machine from right to left, product being at your 10 o'clock, adjust speed to desired value. Dry pad may be lightly sprayed with M34 Final Inspection.
2. Prime your buffing pad with product and spread product on paint surface with rotary buffer turned off, begin polishing covered area.
M205 Ultra Finishing Polish can be used with either polishing, finishing or jewelling buffing pads, depending on your needs, with speed range 900-1,400 rpm. It's not a long bufing cycle product so don't work it in for too long, usually 4-6 passes are enough.

My main concern is the reaction from the paint and I adjust the product amount according to that.

If you use it with a rotary buffer and increase speed there will be some cutting action coming from product/ tool combination (M205 has non-diminishing abrasives).
Slower speeds (900-1,200 rpm) will produce mostly gloss boost/ jewelling.
Same scenario with dual action polishers but of course much less cut, than with a rotary buffer, even on higher speed settings.
