  • Which compound to use..

Ive tried reading posts, but i havent found an exact answer.

I have a black cadillac that i bought that was driven on gravel roads often. It looks as though gravel dust cause some moderate swirling and hologramming in the paint, but it doesnt appear to have swirls from polishing.

I was going to use 83 followed by 82 and then 26 yellow, but im wondering if 83 will cut enough. The swirls appear shallow, but since im ordering the stuff i dont want to be wrong and have to order something stronger later. What level of swirl can 83 with a yellow pad remove?

I also have some ultimate compound and i could find a DA if needed. The "product advisor" on the meguiars site tells me to use UC, but only because it doesnt have an advisor for the pro line.

Yeah, UC is most likely want you want, by hand or DA. A DA would make the job easier. Be sure to use a polishing pad.

You may want to follow up with Ult. Polish, (hand or DA), and then wax of you choice.

And claying, and any other prep first of course.

so you prefer the UC over any of the pro products? If I go that route Ill clay, use UC, then Ultimate Polish, and then finish with either Ultimate Wax or NXT 2.0

Yeah, it works out to be the stronges, DA friendly product.

You can check the Saturday Class threads, and see the photos of the damage it can correct, UC is what they always use. See if it looks about right.

Disregard this post I don't know what I'm thinking lol. I was just gonna say UC is typically more user friendly than some of the pro products such as M105. But you weren't even talking of M105 in the first place.
