  • M105 won't remove P1500 sand marks??

So far, I used M105 mostly on fresh paint, and it always works out great. Last night, I have just got a chance to compound a repainted panel with clear coat dry for 72 hours, which I believe it has harden up. I sanded the clear with P1500 wet by hand, DA sanded again with 3M Trizact P1500, then compounded it with M105 & wool pad, this time I couldn't remove all the P1500 hand sanding marks. So, the P1500 hand sanding is too rough for M105 on a cured paint?

M105 Ultra Cut Compound is capable of 1200-grit sanding mark removal.

However to guarantee that even deepest tracers are removed it's good to refine sanding with higher grade (2500 or 3000) for easier and faster compounding.
