  • M105

Hi, I'm going to rub out my black Camaro after wetsanding with 2000 Unigrit paper. Is an 8oz. bottle of M105 enough? I'll be using a Griots Garage DA polisher. One other question, I already have 1200 3M wet paper can I start with that, then go to the 2000 Unigrit? Thanks for the help Mike

    Re: M105

Is this a fresh paint job? If not, 1200 would be too agressive on factory paint, even be careful with 2000.There isn't much clear on factory paint.

If it is fresh paint, i would start more agressive. I stared with 600 on mine to flatten out the urethane wave. I don't think an 8oz bottle will be enough. I used around 20oz or so, but i started with a rotary for the first cut with a wool pad, the used PC da for final cut of M105.

Thanks Phil. Yes it is a fresh clearcoat paint job. I got it back from my painter, but it still has too much orange peel for me, although slight. I can also still see some 1500 scratches, which he claimed to use initially. Last night I ordered some 2000 unigrit paper and a 32 0z bottle of M105 after realizing how little 8 oz was. I was thinking of just going over it with the 2000 then hit it with M105 with an orange pad, then hit it again with M205 and a white pad. Sound like a plan?

      Thanks,
      Mike

Go with 2000 grit or higher.
        I use VERY LITTLE 105.
I could say I'd use about 4-6 oz of 105.
The more you use the bigger the mess. Use only a few drops at a time
