  • Best wax on black bc/cc

This is a fresh paint job, deep jet black with clearcoat. It is fully cured(6mos,tons of time in sun). I used m105 and m205, now looking for wax to seal it up. I'm looking to get the deepest, wettest, richest look out of it. The car will never see weather, nice day driver only, so durability is not a concern. What does everyone recommmend?

    Phil,

I don't know about Ohio, but if you are in the HVAC business and lived around here, you ain't gonna have time to wax a car. You'd be fix'n A/C!!!

I use a couple of variations of waxes on black vehicles, but I must say the prep work before waxing is what makes, in my minds eye, the most difference. If you've done your last step with M205 you'll be ready. That being said, Gold Class Carnauba Plus may provide the look you are after. I've also used M26 High Tech Yellow Wax with great success too. In the synthetic, I use Ultimate Wax and M21.

If I'm after clearly defined reflections, mirror-like, I used the synthetics. Especially if I'm after some extra longevity, which isn't your concern. The carnauba's offer a different look, a softer reflection.

Many folks love the look provided by NXT Tech Wax 2.0.

It sometimes comes down to what you see and what you are satisfied with. You may need to try and see which one strikes you as the look you're looking for.

I say get #26, UPW, NXT and do a test spot and see which one you like better. Or to some topping tests like UPW topped with #26. You can never have enough sealants and waxes...........lol

For base coat, Ultimate wax (paste or liquid) then top it off with either gold class carnauba plus, m26 or deep crystal carnauba wax. But since you said durability is not an issue, you can skip Ultimate wax, save yourself a few bucks and just use M26 Hi tech yellow wax or Deep Crystal Carnauba wax or just settle with Gold Class Carnauba Plus. Since Gold Class is a polish wax, unlike m26 and Deep crystal Carnauba wax which are pure waxes. You might get superior shine with Gold Class, maintain with Gold class quick detailer and Gold Class Spray wax.

Yea i've been pretty busy here in Ohio, was 99 in the Akron, Ohio area yesterday!
I may pick up the #26 and Gold class plus to try. Like i said, the paint is perfect, no defects. I just finished painting the car and reassembled it in March. It was cut and buffed once in April, now i just went over the car again with the 105 and 205 to get the little scratches that popped up after more dry time. This is the wifes car and it needs to be ready by July 28th for a Mustang show, that's why i'm geting started way ahead of time with my busy work schedule. I'm getting ready to head out to the garage here at 6am to get to work!
