  • Mirror Glaze Quick Wax?

I did some research and found a detailer (M125) which is synthetic but have found no quick wax in the Mirror Glaze Line. The only think i found was M59 in the Marine line.

What is the mirror glaze quick wax? (synthetic preferably)

You will only find quick sprayable waxes in Professional Detailer and Consumer Line:

If you look for a quick application of traditional wax then D301 Finishing Wax may be used as well due to its super easy on/ off application (it has some mild cleaning ability).

M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer is the Mirror Glaze product you are looking for, great for cleaning up light dust and fingerprints and it does impart some basic protection to your paint. I use it as a drying aid after washing to help prevent paint marring, and M135 leaves a slick finish that is great as a 'booster' in between waxing to maintain protection.

Why not call it a wax then? The Mirror Glaze line is targeted towards body shop professionals rather than detailing enthusiasts so the naming conventions are geared towards appealing to those customers. A similar product to M135 in the Detailer line is Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax (D156), same type of uses and characteristics, just variation on the name to appeal to the intended user and like M135 is synthetic, no natural waxes are used. Tough to go wrong with either D156 or or M135 if you are looking for a quality spray product that leaves behind some protection and enhances the look of your paint.

UQD/#135 is good, but there are some differences compared to the spray waxes (UQW/GCQW/D156).

The UQD has lubrication to remove light dust/dirt, and leaves behind a water repelling polymer.

The spray waxes need applied to a clean surface, and will leave a more durable protection behind.

We hate to correct you, Shawn, but this information is not quite right. M135 Synthetic Spray Detailer is essentially the same product as Ultimate Quik Detailer, while D156 Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax is essentially the same product as Ultimate Quik Wax. M135/UQD are mist and wipe quick detailers designed to provide lubricity for the safe wipe off of light dust, fingerprints, etc. Yes, they offer some hydrophobic polymers to promote beading, but they aren't terribly durable and so are not considered waxes at all. D156/UQW, on the other hand, are indeed spray waxes that utilize a much higher polymer content and therefore excellent durability for spray on products. Both should ideally be used on perfectly clean surfaces, just as you would with any other wax. Alternatively both work great as wax-as-you-dry products.

You are spot on, though, about the Mirror Glaze line being more of a body shop centric lineup, so there's very little call for a spray on wax in that arena. D156 is in the Detailer Line, where such a product fits perfectly into the workflow.

Thanks for clarifying Michael! My comments were based on my own experiences with the products but always nice to have the inside track to 'pull back the curtain' on products so to speak as marketing language can cause confusion. I have personally used both M135 and D156 to remove light dust and fingerprints from surfaces as I don't view them as much of a threat to paint and both products perform equally well for me. Any paint contamination heavier than these two examples and my experience with M135/D156 ends, as I would favor a waterless/rinseless/two bucket approach to washing the surface.
