It can be done, but would be very unusual, and usually wouldnt give the best results.

What are you working on that might want that combination?

While in theory you can use any liquid with any pad, a lot of combinations don't make a lot of sense, especially when combining extremes. By that we mean combining a very aggressive pad with a very mild liquid, or a very aggressive liquid with a very mild pad. Usually you want to combine these two in such a way as to maximize the result you're trying to achieve; the more aggressive the combo the more aggressive the correction you're going after and vice versa.

In the case of a W7006 foam cutting pad coupled with M205 ultra finishing polish, we really do wonder what it is you're trying to accomplish. That pad is very aggressive and can remove sanding marks when used with a rotary (and M105 or similar) or it can haze paint if used on a DA. M205 can do wonders for really refining a paint finish, but using it with a very aggressive pad will likely negate that refinement.

This is sort of like putting skinny 13" wheels and tires on a Lamborghini Aventador. Can you do it? Sure, if you had wheels with the proper bolt pattern and offset that would fit, and the car would likely be driveable. But you'd really mess with the overall performance of the car.

Is there a thread on here that shows which pad/pad color would best be used with a product / vice versa?
