  • Carwashing in winter

I have my personal vehicle set up with #16 with #6 as a base coat cleaner/wax. It looks great and maintain with UQG/UQW.

My issue is that in winter I would like to do a rinse less wash like I do with ONR (Optimum No Rinse ) . I was wondering if Megs has a type of product like this instead of using ONR ? I could not find on the website .

My procedure is that of going to the touch less wash . ( reason being I have fresh concrete in my garage and I get an under body flush to keep the salt from eating the concrete ) then I come home , ONR , or I use water and #34 . Would like to try a Megs product like this instead.

I hope I put this in the correct section since I am using the professional line.

BTW- I had asked a few questions about using #16 paste . I am thrilled to death with that product , it's ease of use and durability . Water beading is simply amazing ! Thanks to all that put up with my many questions .

No, ONR is the only one.

Meguiars has a new product coming out soon, Wash and Wax Anywhere, that may be close. But we'll just have to see how it works, and the cost, etc.

ONR is excellent! I hardly ever hose wash anymore.

Just ordered some of the W&W Anywhere from AG and can't wait to try it. ONR cleans amazing well and I've noticed no defects or swirls from the couple times I used it but it just felt like it was doing a number on the UPW LSP I have on. Really does clean well, though.

              Re: Carwashing in winter

With all due respect, it took you 15,000 + posts to finally get one wrong. But since you mentioned Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere it's kind of hard to fault you!! That's pretty impressive, Mat!!

Fallz, you'll want to look into our new Rinse Free Express Wash in the Detailer Line, which would be our direct competition to ONR, and Ultimate Wash & Wax Anywhere which is a ready to use trigger spray product. For very regular use the Rinse Free Express is going to be the more economical choice, but it's very surprising what you can actually accomplish with the Wash & Wax Anywhere product. That one is used sort of like a quick detailer, but you can use it when the car is dirty far beyond anything you'd ever consider with a quick detailer. That also means you'll use quite a bit more of Wash & Wax Anywhere than you would a QD spray, but you are taking off much more dirt this way. It works best if you use a couple of folded microfiber towels, spraying an area thoroughly with the product, wiping with the first towel to remove the dirt, and then following up with the clean towel for a final drying. Fold the first towel as needed while working around the vehicle, always following with the second towel. When the first towel becomes too dirty for further use, move towel two to the initial wipe duty and then grab a third towel for drying. Continue to cycle through fresh towels as needed. Following a few days of rain here I used this product on my car and only used three towels. Now, I have Wraptivo vinyl on the roof so that probably reduced my towel needs by one. It should also be noted that, as with anything, this product is going to have its limitations. If you have seriously heavy, built up crud on the car you may want to run down to a coin op wash and hose that off first, then follow with Wash & Wax Anywhere to really clean things up. Or, since you're already an ONR user, go with the Rinse Free Express Wash where you would normally use ONR.

                      Re: Carwashing in winter

Finally used the W&WA the other day. Roughly 40 degrees outside, car was washed earlier in the day before the rain came in then drove around in the rain. Still pretty clean when I parked her. Waited about an horu for some water to drain away then went out and misted with W&WA then dried with MF towel. Maybe I went too heavy on the W&WA because I used almost half the bottle and don't think I'd want to go much lighter if hte car was actually soiled. But it certainly left a nicely "just waxed" look which showed water beading a week later almost as nice as a fresh UPW job.

Seems it might be a bit pricey per use but also seems to promise nice (and easy) results. Definately has potential for bringing on a roadtrip or touching up summer time bird bombs!
