Are you referencing the pad that actually looks like wool or the "hybrid" purple foamed wool that still has a foam presence?

I've used the hybrid pad on some scratch repairs and heavy oxidation coupled with M105. It had great cutting ability but I found it had almost similar tendancies to the older Yellow LC pads. I tried the LC CCS Orange pad with 105 and achieved the results I was looking for, but did take a little longer than expected yet finished much cleaner.

Not an apples to apples comparison but just to give you an idea.

hes obviously referencing to the purple FOAMED wool pad...says so in his title...not the pads with the foam cubes everywhere those are still foam pads..but on to his question try the combo yourself im betting the foamed wool pad will have more cut then the microfiber pad as foamed wool still has wool fibers which have more cut then microfiber...so id probably use it if you need more correction then what the MF cutting pad/d300 will give you..do a test spot and take pics of your results

That's one combo that I, personally, don't recall ever seeing discussed. But experimentation is often a good thing and sometimes yields very interesting results. D300 on a W8207 foam polishing pad, on a specific car with very delicate paint that I had the pleasure to work on, cleared up all the swirls and left a beautiful finish where other combos hazed the paint badly. An IPA wipedown proved that no masking was happening.

M105 on the purple foamed wool should provide more cut than D300 on the same pad, but it should create less dust and maybe even finish a bit nicer (although quality of finish is going to depend largely on how the paint responds).

D300 works better on a MF pad than anything I've tried it with. It works OK on PFW but IMO, D300 finishes better with MF. 105 with PFW cuts extremely well and still finishes very well on lighter colors. Since the advent of the MF DA System I rarely drag out PFW except for removing sanding scratches, usually with the rotary.
