  • W68 backing plate question

Will W68 backing plate work well with any 6.5" pad?

I am thinking of getting LC purple foamed wool pad in 6.5" size, and to use it on my PC with W68 pad on it. I am going thinking of getting the rotary version of W68, so I can use my 2.0 pads on both DA and Rotary I have.

By the way, does W68 for rotary has center hole for centering?

    Re: W68 backing plate question

The W68 backing plate should really only be used with our Soft Buff 2.0 pads which are actually 7" in diameter, so having the W68 and W68DA plates is perfect if you want to use those pads on both DA and rotary tools. The hook & loop on the back of the LC PFW pad is probably better suited to our W66 or W67 backing plates. Mismatching of hook and loop components will lead to a premature breakdown the material. So if you're going to use PFW or our W4000 wool pad you should move away from the W68 plate.
