  • M105 question

Can I reduce M105's cutting level by using different pad?

M105 works great! But, in may cases ( usually for cars in my family ), I won't need Lv12 cutting level, because I would hope to preserve as much clear coat as possible.

Should I just change pad with M105? Or, I should use mild cut polish for such purpose?

    Have you tried Ultimate Compound?

I have tried it once before without very good impression, but I was new to my PC at that time. I guess I will give it another try. However, considering UC is a consumer line product, will it work out good and effectively easy?

With your DA and yellow pad it will work great and it will not dry up as fast as 105. Do a test spot and work a small area and you will be pleased with results.

If you don't need the cut of M105 - and let's face it, most of the time that level of cut really isn't needed - then we highly recommend Ultimate Compound on the DA for everything from light to even fairly heavy defect removal. UC is derived from M105 but offers a much longer buffing cycle on the DA and almost no dust. We've used it with fantastic result in every Saturday Class we've done since it's introduction, and we never know what kind of car is going to be thrown at us in those classes. Just check out any of the pictures threads from our Saturday Classes and you'll see what we mean. Pictures from Saturday Classes
