What is the best dilution for APC+ to clean brake dust?

What is the best dilution for APC+ to clean brake dust? My wheels are clean every few weeks so there is not a ton of brake dust, but is 10:1 sufficient or is something like 4:1 better or is that too much?

10:1 is pretty good if you wash your wheels regularly....I went thru a few 10:1 & 4:1 full spray bottles and did not really notice the 4:1 dillution being better....but my wheels are fairly clean...

I've had good results from 4:1 on light build-up on clear-coated rims, but I wax my wheels every month, and wash my car at least weekly, so I've never had any difficulty using regular car wash soap to clean them.

If your cleaning your wheels weekly I would imagine soap & water would be just fine.

I just use some dawn and a brush, it works well enough. 10:1 APC should be fine unless its really caked on.

After using APC at a dilution ratio of 10:1 on alloy wheels, should I apply a coat of wax again?
Does the APC strip the wax off the wheels?

How can some of you guys wax your wheels every month? I can't imagine doing that to my 3 piece mesh design rims; getting between the spokes and the rivets.

Heh. That looks more than a little challenging. AG sells foam finger pockets that make applying wax on wheels easier - you might want to look into them. They're great for getting into nooks and crannies without worrying about dropping your applicator pad.

I usually use wheel brightener, but on rims with polished lips i go 4:1 APC, light aggitation and then foam them along with the rest of the car.
The only thing you have to remember when doing it this way (all 4 wheels without rinsing), is that APC can dry out quick on hot wheels, and this will mean that the dirt that has come loose will re-settle. So keep moist!
