Centering button on newest W64 backing plate removable?

Is the centering button that sticks out on the bottom of the newest W64 backing plate removable? I thought for sure you could unscrew it and remove it on the older W64 backing plates, but my newest backing plate does not seem to want to come off very easily?

OK, nevermind. I finally got it out. It is removable like I thought.
