  • Final Inspection on 2 day old paint

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this but wanted to ask if Final Inspection is safe to use on some paint that is only 2 days old? When I got my car back from having the hood repainted (yeah for the second time, first time they did a half butt job) there was some dust and some water stains from where they didnt dry it good so I sprayed on some Final Inspection. This is my first time to use it and man was I impressed. I thought I had read Mike say one time Final Inspection was safe on new paint because it had no waxes or silicones and would let the paint continue to breathe. If it shines that much I cant wait to see what the NXT speed detailer will do. Im not sure if you are suppose to but I even got some on the windshield by accident so I wiped it in and made it shine with no residue. If I can use it on glass than I might just stick with the Final Inspection and go to the dealer and get a gallon next time. I am going to have to make a cabinet for all the Meguiars stuff I have acquired in the last month, its insane!

FI is body shop safe. I use it for clay lube for Overspray Clay. FI is a very good QD. That is all I used to use until Mike told me about Final Detail and then Last Touch.

You will like the NXT Speed Detailer. It is slicker and provides even more gloss than FI. Plus it smells better too!

Split your FI 1:1 f or 2:1 for claying don't use it straight. I wouldn't go too crazy with FI it does have its intended purposes, I would definitely stick with a proper window cleaner.

I didn't know you should dilute FI for claying. Does it work better that way or just it simply make a bottle last longer? Either way it is a good tip because claying an entire car takes a lot of lube.

It really does both but I think most importantly it leaves less residue and allows you to wipe off easier. A lot of people clay using plain water so it makes sense. I think it might be on the instructions on the bottle or that may be Last touch?

Last Touch tells you to dilute for claying. I assumed because LT is so slick!

Well I washed hood this morning and dried and no film today or tonight. I am not sure what it was. Maybe I used too much? I did not think that was possible as long as you buffed it with dry clean microfiber. Worked great today though for removing 80 and 83!

                  Hey,

                  Just to clarify...

Meguiar's #34 Final Inspection is ready to use right from the bottle. There is no need to dilute it. It is also Body Shop safe!

However, with Meguiar's Last Touch, dilution is needed when claying as it is too slippery IMHO to feel the clay remove the contaminents off the paint's surface. However for general QD'ing purposes, use it straight out of the bottle.

                  Cheers!
