  • D151..when to use, and worth the buy?

    How's it goin guys..
I wanted to get a little insight on 151. For the guys putting out a decent amount of cars, when would you use 151 over other products and why? I understand its an AIO, but when do you decide to use it? And is it worth the buy?

D151 Paint Reconditioning Cream was developed for volume reconditioning facilities - it can be used with anything from a finishing pad on a DA to a wool pad on a rotary. While it will rarely give you a true show car shine, in cases of a vehicle presenting moderate defects where the customer is only willing to pay for a one step process, it's hard to beat D151's level of correction and shine in that single step.

      D151 Fan here.

Fantastic one step product with great correction ability. If you want you could re-apply it with less aggressive pad in step 2 or just top it with your favorite finishing wax/ sealant.

I use it on every car that I'm not doing a full paint correction on. Which is probably 75% of my business. Most of my customers just want their daily driver to look good, for this D151 is the best product out there IMO.

It is a great volume based product but no substitute for a multi-step paint correction. I'm an enthousiast and I have a gallon but have never found a reason to use it. All my cars get multi-step paint correction because ultimately no one-stepper can top that.

Haven't used D151 for some time but it gave me a great impression. It can correct quite more than you'd expect and it leaves protection behind, although I always used to top it off with an additional layer of wax.

Just used d151 after resting for a year in my shelf. Tried a test spot on a friend's BMW hood and works out pretty well. My tools were G110v2, LC 5.5" orange cutting, D151. The car is well maintained silver paint, never been detailed but the owner took good care of it. 75% of the swirl was gone, didn't check for hologram as he already 'wow.ed' by the result.

Also tried on the headlights (8 years of waterspots). Same tools, result: clear as new... not bad for a quick demo and showoff, D151 certainly blew the 'average joe' away. Sorry no pics, but i clearly remember the smile on his face....

Afterwards tried same tools on his kitchen marble top, crazy waterspot... abused the machine and pad for 10-15min...result:

Well it was a failed effort, but the tabletop was shiny as new. His wife was extremely pleased with it though lol....
