  • New D/A microfiber & D300 (my thoughts)

Alright! I finally got the chance to try out the new microfiber pads and new product D300 for the first time this weekend. I decided I would use my own car (honda civic) to test them out and see what I thought. Here is the package I received.

Now this is the paint I had to work with. Let me start off by saying that the paint was much worse than these pictures show. I was using an old point and shoot when I took these so they are not the best quality. So believe me when I tell you I had many swirls and many RIDS and deep scratches from being on a college campus. On to the before pictures

Before getting to the before pictures I want to give a HUGE thanks to fellow member Nick Chapman! I sent him a text message letting him know I was soon going to use these products for the first time and he helped me to get over the little learning curve and get the best results possible on my paint.

So here are the after pictures of what I was able to accomplish! I could have sworn I took more pictures of the direct sun with my buddies camera, however idk where they went so the single one is all I have. The paint is just deep, dripping wet, and like glass though! I went on a little photo shoot when I finished I was so excited!

Now onto the pics we all love! Reflections and the full on sun!

Ignore all the dust on this one, couldnt keep the stuff off of the car

So my thoughts on these new products you ask?! They are AMAZING! I had both D300 and D301 at my disposal and when I did my test spot D300 finished down so great that D301 was not necessary! I could be really nitpicky and say that it somewhat bugged me cleaning the pad really often but really...does that matter when you can get results this easy?

I first thought there wouldnt be much learning curve. Though there is, you really have to find the right amount of product to use as you really do not need much. When I got about halfway through on my car this stuff was just eating scratches and swirls for breakfast! It really is so easy to use that I had a friend of mine detail a few sections of my car (he has never detailed a car in his life) and he was able to get amazing results!

All it took for me to really get the best results where priming the pad, using only around a pea size of product, and working in smaller areas. (Thanks to Nick for giving me these tips) It worked wonders, so I know if I can do it and get these results anyone can. If you are still contemplating picking these up, don't! Get online and get them now before I buy the rest! This stuff is awesome, I already have people wanting me to do their cars next!

      Thanks Meguiars!

          Very Nice Finish!

I too am lovin' this new MF DA 5" kit system...but there is an irony that always makes me smile.

Why do you get a Megs detailing apron in the kit?

This stuff does not splatter, dust or make a mess.
I have found I don't need to tape off paint & trim!

The only things that comes to mind are...
Keeps you from scratching the paint when leaning over.
You look kewl with a "clean" Megs apron while detailing!

Depending on what the first few customers request this season I may pick up this kit.

            Your Honda looks great now!
