was wondering what pad is most common to use with 205 after 105 compounding?

It depends on how M105 leaves your paint.
If Ultra Cut Compound left its own defects then yellow polishing pad would be better to clear it up activating cleaning and polishing ability of Ultra Finishing Polish. If the surface looks good, with nothing left behind, then black finishing pad will add gloss making M205 acting more like pure polish. -

Agreed. I use LC white or black depending on how well M105 worked.Comment

We've seen cases where a polishing pad was the better choice, and other cases where the finishing pad was the way to go. How the paint responded to the previous step, and how it responds to the M205 and your pad choice will give you a definitive answer for a given project.Michael Stoops
