  • Wheel Brightener spray trigger problems.

    Hey Everyone,
I use Megs Wheel Brightener, and recently noticed that the sprayer head stopped working. I know that sometimes my solvent sprayer heads stop working also, I think the seals get swollen or something. Would the Wheel Brightener eat away at the seals?

If you let it sit up long enough, yes, it will eat the seal

Check ADS, they have the recommended sprayers for each product. WB needs to have a Chemical Resistant sprayer to prolong the sprayer life, otherwise the product will eat it up. Same goes for APC+ in stong dilutions.

Also, when finished using a product, it is always good practice to flush it out using water before storing.

You should flush out the head with water when done, even with chemical resistant heads, it will eat through it. Had it happen to me multiple times. Never had it happen to me with APC+ until today. Quite a pain when I was at a detail and my sprayer wouldn't work haha

I once put swirls in my paint just to see what it looked like.

        I don't always detail cars, but when I do, I prefer Meguiar's.
        Remove swirls my friends.

I've been using the regular white sprayers from ADS (the non chemical ones) and have never had a problem. That's because I rinse the sprayers out after every use. WB is so strong that chemical sprayers won't even hold up to it if you don't rinse them out.

Here's what I do. After I'm done and putting up the supplies, I remove the sprayer and spray what's left back into the bottle. Then I place the sprayer in a bucket of clean water and spray until it's rinsed. I remove the sprayer and spray until all the water is out. Overall, it takes about 20 seconds.

I agree with the last 2 posts. You have to rinse to prolong the life of the sprayer head.

ive had my ADS sprayers for over a year with APC at 4:1 and have never rinsed them and are still going strong ... i did buy some blue solvent based dressing and after a week killed the same sprayer - go figure

Thanks guys...that's pretty much what I had to do...rinse the triggers out after using them.
