  • Impressed by APC.

Picked up my first gallon of D-101 today.

I've been using Simple Green at full strength on tires, and used APC at 4:1 and it cleaned much better than Simple Green ever thought about cleaning!

Now that I've tried some of the D-Line, I want more.

What would the best dressing be for a higher gloss, but dry to the touch?

No need to have simple green or any other household cleaners in the house, APC or APC+ will handle it. Very versatile product and with the dilution levels, you get more bang for the dollar.

Being you said dry to the touch, I'd say Hyper Dressing. You can mix it to your liking for gloss. It's water based, so it won't last as long as All Season Dressing, but being that you can dilute it, it is more versatile. It's also a great dressing for trim.

BTW All Season Dressing isn't greasy, but it is solvent based. You can't mix it with water.

Personally I recommend both, but if I had to go with just one, it would be Hyper Dressing for the above reasons.

I haven't used it. Ravi1992 has, amongst some of the other dressings (you could PM him). I recall Ravi making a comment that he wasn't impressed with the longevity.

If you want longevity All Season Dressing or Endurance (from the consumer line).

I'd personally only use Silicone Free Dressing in a body shop environment or on tonneau covers, as silicone can void the warranty on many brands.

I am a big fan of All Season Dressing. It Lasts a long time, Easy to use. For me it has just the right amount of gloss.

silicon-free dressing doesn't really give very glossy shine. I heard that hyper-dressing does, and it is water base with silicon-free as well.

As just a hobbyist, I use M40 more than dressing on both interior and exterior for non-shine clean looking.

Im not a huge fan of Silicone free dressing, it doesn't last too long at all , go with hyper dressing. HD will last you way longer compared to SFD . I use SFD for wheel wells now

hi there. been using APC too. as the name goes, All purpose cleaner- i use it to clean the interiors, engine bay and tires. I agree with the All Season Dressing it is good, but I wanted to try the Hyperdressing.

Hyper Dressing has the capabilities to be VERY glossy, if Mixed 1:1 ratio. I have using this exclusively and I love it but at the same time I must say that if the car is outside, or left in the element, especially rain, it will wash away HD easily. BUT if the car is garaged primarily and does not see much rain, it could last about 2 weeks. Gloss does decrease over time. My Mother in laws Ford Edge has had HD from day one and I get about 2 weeks before re applying, my Buick last maybe 3-4 days at best.

I have not used the others but I would try all season dressing. I suspect less glossy, but last longer for cars in th element.
