    Re: Polishing oils in M205?

When applying 205 and ScratchX, is the proper technique to lay your fingers flat across the pad and apply pressure? I used my fingertips and I am wondering if that applied too much force for the product, and caused it to work in more

You want to work it in more towards the palm of your hand. Using your finger tips causes un even pressure and will then correct unevenly. So you will want to be sure to apply constant pressure across the pad.

Yeah, aim closer to below your knuckles/palm.

Using as small an amount of product as you describe and using your fingertips too much is going to lead to some issues, especially if you have really delicate paint. Fingertips create pressure points and using just a tiny drop of product provides no lubrication to buffer the abrasives and, well, just doesn't give you any real product to do the job. You definitely want more product and to apply pressure to the pad further down your fingers - basically everything Matt (Murr1525) described

But even then, if you've got really delicate paint you may need to rethink some things. If you've got a D/A, stick with it even when doing spot correction. Read through this article on dealing with delicate paint and see if it fits with what you're seeing.

You know, that info probably dates back to the original NXT Tech Wax (notice it is not describing it as NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0) and it probably just hasn't been updated. The bottle image is of 2.0 but that's more a call-out to a specific image location issue and not an updating of technical info. Our apologies for that.
