  • Meguiar's X-Press Liquid Wax is it a Spray Wax?

Is this a spray wax like Ultimate Quick Wax? Are these two waxes similar in their application methods, spray on and wipe off?

No, its a liquid, applied like a liquid wax.

But if you apply it thin, it should be dried very very fast. Basically apply to the whole car, then walk back around removing.

Re: Meguiar's X-Press Liquid Wax is it a Spray Wax?

I just purchased some products from detailing line this week, including X-Press wax. When I tried to apply it first time, I was realy crazy about the removal - it was absolutely imposible to remove this wax. After time I spent yesterday evening on MOL, I was able to use it correctly with supreme results today.

The whole thing is to apply SUPER THIN layer of this wax. If you apply somethig that looks white after drying, go to the local gym to prepare your muscles before you will start removing it If you will acheive this even after my advice (as I did until today), use Quik Detailer to put X-Press off or if there is no orher choice, APC will help you (remove all waxes) also - I made it today 3 times for whole hood before first positive result

Finaly I used G220 and polishing pad to apply SUPER THIN coat of wax. If you will use half of amount that is usual for NXT 2.0 or M21 you are not far from your goal. The wax should dry to almost invisible layer aproximately 10 inches (25cm) behind your pad during your work. I made two passes for half of hood (in horizontal and vertical direction) from three spots on pad in peas size. Surface after your work should be hazzy, NOT WHITE!

Make swipe test before removal, you will be surprised how fast it is - I removed it finaly after aprox. 5 min. (temperature 25C, sunny day)

The same works also for applying by hand - SUPER THIN coat!

I hope I discovered the "secret" - with this method X-Press wax works great. I was almost crazy that I have one gallon of terriable wax (and than I will look like Arnie after each car), now after today afternoon I'm crazy how much cars I can wax with this gallon and how fast

The result I tested with water hose seems to be almost the same as M21 (but I found M21 little bit better) after applying but I can not judge about the durability. Paint was glossy and slick as it should be of course

Finaly M21 is more user friendly and will maybe stay longer but X-Press is faster when you apply it correctly

Have a fun with testing as I had today!
