  • Anybody try heat gun before?

Is anybody try to use heat gun to dry the polish or wax.

Let me share my school time story with you. During that time, my teacher was very fussy about shine on shoe. Always I had the problem.

One day, I accidently discover a method that I no need to bring the shoe polish to school anymore. What I did is apply a layer of the shoe polish/wax, heat up by lighter. Of course you must well control and keep the fire in certain distance. When it is start cool, use a cloth to wipe. The shine is perfect and secure me from many punishment. Everytime , I just use a cloth to wipe again, It shine without dust.

I hope this will bring some idea to share.

    Hi Mason,

While you can do whatever you want, Meguiar's neither recommends using a heat gun to dry our waxes, nor is it remotely necessary. Meguiar's waxes will dry in most climates and temperatures in a window of time between 10 to 15 minutes. There is just no good reason to force dry our products with a heat gun.

I answered many of your questions including this on in your first post here,

How cold is the temperature where you live during the daytime?

The place I live is about 32 to 38 Celsious at daytime. but it is always rain and always very moisture. Especially now after the Tsunami. The wheather is getting very crazy. Between 30 mins you may facing sunshine or raining.

In last couple of days, in a day it can rain from 4 to 8 times. very un predictable wheather.

Personally, I would never force dry any Meguiar products, even in the worst of conditions.

I recently detailed this HUMMER in a nursery greenhouse. It was a rainy day outside and the humidity level in the greenhouse where the HUMMER was parked was very high. Even with the extreme high levels of humidity, the Meguiar's polishes and waxes I was using didn't take much longer to dry than the normal 10 to 15 minutes.

Hey, this HUMMER even got a top coat of NXT Tech Wax.
