Thanks for the info Tim. I would definately go with a gas unit, and Honda has a great reputation. As far as water pressure goes, we are on a well at home that provides about 60 psi and the shop is on the city system at about 60 psi as well. It's something that my father and I have been contemplating for a few years now for the business but have always been too busy to shop around and take a good look at the units available locally. One last question, does your unit have a pressure adjustment? I think it would be nice to switch to a lower pressure for washing cars vs. cleaning the parking lot and building. Thanks

Wash Pretreatment

If you drive on winterroads with salt and sand and snow, the only way to remove the dirt is to presoak it with some kind of solvent. There are different kinds, petroleum based and milder, but not as effective waterbased once as well.
I usually use a waterbased one and let it sit for about 5min. Then i use a an elctric pressure washer or the hose(if not very dirty) to rinse most of it off. Then i can use some mild carsoap and a mit to get the remaining layer of dirt.
And it doesn't remove a good hardwax, tests show that the best once(Lahega, Sonax) can stand against several washes with a petroleum based solvent.
