  • Washing pads

I recently bought 6 new SoftBuff 2.0 pads, both polishing and finishing. I used them once, then washed them on my heavy duty cycle with liquid detergent with warm water, then dried them on a quick dry setting for about 20 minutes using medium heat

Most of the pads came clean, except for my finishing pads. Two of the three still had product 'stains'. The two that I used with my NXT Tech wax and Gold Class carnuba wax both still had residue on/in the pad. Is this normal? Also, I noticed a couple of chunks missing from the edges of my finishing pads after their first washing...

    Re: Washing pads

Try this: Fill up your sink with one gallon of warm water and then add 1 cup of APC or APC+. Let the pads soak for 30-60 minutes, then don a pair of rubber gloves and work the face of your stained pads with your thumbs. The pads should clean up very nicely. It did for me.

They should not be missing chunks after one washing. I would give customer care a call. everything else you did sounds right.

        Re: Washing pads

I partly filled the wash bucket with very hot tap water and a tea pot full of boiling water. To that I added 1/3 cup of TSP (hardware store) plus the pads and towels. TSP melted that wax right out of everything. Then I used my home washer and dryer. I did use a pair of hot gloves to nead the pads a little. This was to be my third year fighting the liquid wax removal process, not no more!

Spray with Dawn Power Dissolver, let sit for a few minutes then rinse off with warm water. Let air dry.
