  • D180 Leather Cleaner & Conditioner - Review w/pics!

Okay guys, im sure a few of you may have seen me ask this question a hundred times and post a few threads asking what D180 looked like on leather, and although many of you were more than helpful, it just wasnt convincing enough to show me what it really looked like..so i had to give it a shot for myself..my ADS order finally came in today and i gave D180 a try, and i love it ! its nice and glossy on my leather and thats exactly what i was looking for...however, remember that you can bring down the gloss by going back for a final wipe with a microfiber or terry towel...im sure there will be many like me that wants to know what a product looked like after it was applied before they bought it..so i decided, im going to do a nice quick write up..enjoy guys, and thanks to all that recommended i get D180.

This is a 2009 Mazdaspeed 3 Grand Touring with the Alcantara Suede w/leather bolsters. I cleaned the leather with APC 10:1 to ensure the surface was bare and clean for this test..

here is the surface after cleaned with APC

I then put a peice of tape to show the before and after results, and i applied D180 to a meguairs soft foam applicator pad, these things are just the best.

And here we go, the results

And here is the leather fully done (although it looks like i missed a spot !)

I love D180. its all im going to use on my leather. its my favorite. Hope you all enjoyed

It is nice having the pics so we can see if we like the gloss level. Thanks for doing the write up and pics. Very helpful.

very welcome, the gloss can always be broughten down by coming back for a final wipe with your microfiber or terry cloth..oh and just to note: D180 does have great cleaning ability..even though i cleaned this test spot with APC first, i only did it so the surface could be thoroougly cleaned for a fair test...i cleaned the other side without APC and just D180 and i got a significant amount of dirt and contamination on my pad, thus proving to me D180 not only conditions and dresses leather, it does clean very well.

Since you can reduce the gloss by wiping again, do you have any concern that you are leaving some excess product after the first wipe?

Is this likely to be wiped off by clothing when you use the seats?
Would you then have glossy areas where the product is "untouched" compared to the areas wiped by clothing?
Maybe that is what happened where you thought you might have missed a spot.

Any chance it would stain clothing if only wiped one time and left glossy?

oh and about staining clothing, not it wont stay clothing..as long as you give it about 5-10 minutes to dry, your perfectly fine.

Do yo have pics of it wiped down after applying? To me D180 looks overly greasy like some cheap AA.

Nice! It does look great! I may get this after all due to the amount of leather I find myself cleaning and dressing as of late. I guess my question to Meguiar's would be, which has the best overall protecting ability? D180 or Gold Class? Cleaning is a so-so for me. If I want to really clean it, I'll use a cleaner.

i do not have any pics of what it looks like after wiped..as i dont do that to my leather because i like the shiny look, its what i like. however, if you do come back for a final wipe, it does bring down the gloss to a more natural look, still looks cleaned and conditioned, just more natural than "greasy" as you put it.
