I tried it once and didn't care for it. It felt weird (seriously the best way I can describe it) and did an okay job cleaning the pads.

I think the Lake Country version is better, particularly with wool pads. But I still prefer doing it by hand.

I disagree. The pad washer is very easy to use and does an awesome job of cleaning the pads. I've only used it on foam pads, though. Heck, even Mike Phillips likes the pad washer and recommends it. Can't beat that!

I agree with Colin. I use the Universal ALLLLL the time and absolutely love it. Foam pads come out 100% clean every single time.

Thanks for the replies. The majority of my work will entail removing heavy oxidation from RV's. I need a reliable, quick and effective way to keep the pads clean.

I'm confused slightly. You show pictures of the Lake Country pad washer (which I like) to prove me wrong (about a product I like).

To each there own, but everybody I know who has used both has prefered the Lake Country System 2000 to the Grit Guard pad cleaner.

If your happy with it then that is all that matters of course!

Todd, I wasn't trying to prove you wrong. I was posting that information for the OP.

I haven't used the LC system, just the GG version. I don't use wool pads often so I chose the GG version. I definitely think if you use wool pads often, the LC would be the better pad washer. But if foam is what you use, IMO the GG can't be beat.

Bottom line: Are you willing to shell out about $135 for either device? My money went toward more pads. Something to think about.

DA, 90% of the time, removing oxidation from gel coated RV's. The oxidation tends to clog up pads rather quickly.

James, you'll never regret getting a pad washer. You'll probably end up thinking it was the best investment you'd made. While buffing out RVs, you'll want to either clean your pad a lot or switch to new pads frequently. The pad washer will allow you to clean your pad in a matter of seconds and continue buffing. You won't go through so many pads and you'll end up with a better finish than just using a saturated, clogged pad.

I know its a lot of money. I debated it for quite some time. However, once I bought one the money spent was a mute point. It was WELL worth every single penny, even it did cost 13,500 of them.
