I don't know if I've ever seen a PPI rating for our foam pads. I can check and see what I can find out?

If you think about it however, regardless of the PPI, in the big picture, you're going to choose the appropriate pad for the job and the appropriate product and then begin working.

In the Meguiar's line, this would be a cutting pad, (W-7006) a polishing pad, W-8006), or a finishing pad (W-9006).

I'll see if I can find anything out.

Reason being, I've got some 3" pads for the pc, which are really good for getting into tight areas on my car, and I'm wondering which is the equivalent to a meg's polishing pad. They are rated, 60, 70, and 80 ppi, but they also have a 50 and a 90, so I'm just trying to figure which would be closest to meg's 8006 pad so that I can better match it up with my polish(usually #66).

Interesting topic. I called a couple of other pad companies about PPC information and was informed this information is not published or released. I agree with Mike about using the correct pad for the job. Further, pad selection depends on many variables in regards to the complete make-up of the pad. I.E., denisty, type of foam, size, firmness, etc.

            Hi George,

Meguiar's family gives everyone here at the Corporate office a long holiday weekend off work to spend with their families.

I'll see if there is any information relating to the PPI of our foam pads on Monday, but I'm pretty sure I've never seen this information available. While it may be useful to compare different foam pads, in the big pictures, if you're using Meguair's foam pads, you will choose the right pad for the job and it's appropriateness for the tool.
