Re: Solvent based dressing
The difference if I understand is one is solvent based while the other obviously not (not to be a smarty pants),
The solvent based one flashes faster (meaning the solvent dissapates) leaving behind the dressing and a pretty durable dressing to boot!!!!
I have the older Detailer Line S-Dressing which is solvent based and a very little goes a looong ways. Our Yukon digs it, our Neon doesn't react too well to it.
It's not VOC compliant in some states, which makes it hard to get.....Philippians 2:14 - Do all things without grumbling or questioning,

Okay, I was off a bit on the two dressings......
Here's a quote from Mike Pennington.....

As far as the products go, All Season Dressing and Solvent Based Dressing are both a "solvent based" dressings and are designed to be high shine and used on the exterior of the car. You will get a slight difference in flash time and gloss with the VOC complaint formula (All Season Dressing) compared to the non VOC compliant (Solvent Based Dressing).
Water Based Dressing is a very traditonal water based dressing that detailers are familiar with,as in a basic 2:1 dilution rate. Most detailers are looking for this ration because it is the "norm". Hyper Dressing, on the other hand, is step out of most peoples comfort factor because it can be diluted up to 4:1 and some people juist don't want to go against the grain of a normal 2:1 dressing
Hope this makes sense.
