What do you guys use to clean your tires? I use APC+ (10:1) with tire brush, to scrub. Any suggestions?

I tried apc+ at 10:1. It didn't work very well at all for me.
I followed up with bleche wite... Let's just say, there was a brown running down the tire.
But the tire I used it on only gets cleaned with a rag and wash soap. So, theres THAT factor. If you always use the 10:1 apc, then they will probably only need to use the 10:1.

I always preferred Bleche wite(strictly for the hardcore), but 4:1 APC+ seems to perform about the same as bleche wite

I use APC 4:1 most of the time, when doing casual/routine washes on my own car.

When I'm doing customer vehicles, or when I'm doing detail/more thorough work on my own car, then I use Westley's Bleche-Wite, like the other fellow. The stuff does work.
When you spray it on and let it dwell for a couple minutes, "brown" just runs off your tires and it looks awesome. I personally think this feature is sort of a chemical color-changing "gimmic" that happens when Bleche-Wite touches rubber surfaces, but it certainly does make one feel better with that visual "oomph" that the chemical is working .

APC 4:1 most of the time.
Bleche-Wite when I'm more serious or thorough about it.

Btw, the stuff is quite affordable at the local auto store, so pick up 3+ bottles of it because you will find that it can go fast!

        I wouldn't say it's a gimmick.
4:1 lifts out the brown, too (If i remember correctly). 10:1 did it also, but removed the light dust and dirt. So once the tire dried. By gum, it was BROWN! BW lifted the brown within seconds, scrubbed it, rinsed, and dried as black as they could be.

I couldn't test the tires with 4:1 because I ran out a while back and only have 10:1. so sad.

Have you tried multiple applications of bleche wite? the 2nd or third application might stay blue. I'll try that.

I'll have to try a 2nd or 3rd application of WBW. Good recommendation. That might be a fun test . Of course though...I'll have to add a few bottles of WBW to my shopping list when I head to Kragen tmrw to buy an air compressor . I only have about 1/8th bottle remaining at home atm.

I use APC, I tend to mix mine aorund 8:1 or so for everything.

But yeah, I am sure doing it often is a factor, the less you maintain something, the stronger the cleaners you need.

Whoa. are you sayin "using a rag + leftover wash soap is wrong"?&? Seriously, I couldn't even watch him do it.

Hopefully, I convinced my brother to at least use a brush. Tire brush is definitely the key to clean tires/adding longevity to dressing.

                  Did I miss something?

But yeah, I use a brush as well.

yep, the tires I tried cleaning with 10:1 APC+ are my brother's. He uses a rag and soap on his tires. *cringes*
I'd say his tires have never been properly cleaned(they were bought in March)
EDIT: I did clean them with 4:1 APC+ and a tire brush in June.

Maybe a show car could get away with soap.

But I have always needed at least APC. My point was more comparing the APC 10:1, 4:1, other strong cleaners. Wouldnt think 4:1 is always needed if cleaned often.

I have never had a problem using the APC @ a 10:1 ratio.

Well then wait until you see how clean it gets @ 4:1 ratio, and then even moreso when you switch to Bleche-Wite!

I use Simple Green Max, spray it on, give it a good scrub and immediately rinse off. Seems to work good for me although if I do a quick job at it the tires tend to turn greyish white.

I always use Westley's Bleche-Wite on my own tires and my customer's tires. It is super affordable (~$3.50/bottle), extremely effective and pretty much the only way I've found to keep my white walls as clean as I like them. You can see the all the tire gunk just drip off without any agitation! After a through scrubbing with a hard-bristle brush, you could eat off of my tires.
