  • #16 vs #26 /cold temp application?

2 questions. What is the main differences/advantages of #16 vs #26. I put #26 om top of NXT and it looks great.(even though I didnt wait between applications)

Also, It will be in the 40's this weekend and I'd like to layer again with #26 or #16. Is this okay at 40 degrees F.

    Hey,

I have found that #26 leaves a more warm, deep finish where #16 leaves an incredibly reflective, high gloss finish. The choice comes down to personal tastes.

I have used both of these products in colder tempertures than that without problems.

      Question about #7 and #26

      Hi Tim,

I'm relatively new to the forum, my first post actually, although I've been browsing for some time.

My question is this: I have an 03 Acura TL in Satin Silver. Currently, I have Klasse AIO applied in spring and Klasse SG and Meg's #26 every few weeks during the summer.

I have #7 Show Car Glaze which I am curious to use. I haven't had the chance to apply #26 yet for the past few weeks so I'm contemplating on trying The #7 then the #26. Would it improve the shine?

Also, would it keep the SG intact or will it remove it?

I think it's going to be hard to see dramatic differences in depth, richness, and reflectivity with the color silver, but I do think that different products can affect gloss, shine and slickness.

You probably won't know if you like one group or products over the other in both appearance and application and removal until you try applying these different products in a controlled test.

As far as using the #7 and the #26 goes, be sure to apply thin coats of both these products and then remove with either a fluffy soft 100% cotton towel, and or a quality microfiber polishing cloth.

Here's a little how-to article on doing a test spot correctly to see if you can see a difference. While this article has to do with topping NXT, the method of applying a product to a small section and then inspecting your results will work with any product you want to apply, the important thing is to only apply the product to a sectioned off area so that you can actually compare two different areas. I've read often of people applying a coat of one product over another product and then evaluating the results when there is nothing to compare to? So how could a person accurately compare, evaluate, or judge the differences? (If any).

        Here's the link,

            Hey Vicman17

            Welcome to Meguiar's Online!!!

From my experience with Silver colored cars, the #7 will not add more depth but it does add more gloss! I would then suggest topping it with Meguiar's #16 Paste Wax. This combo tends to give a very reflective, glossy finish!!
