  • #66 or #83, which is less aggressive?

Alright so I'm really starting to like two different products, 66 and 83 (I've got a gallon of each). I'm finding to get full results with the 66 you have to heat it up some with the rotary, but for a quick single step once over it creates an awsome finish. Then there's 83 which works great by the DA polisher. So I'm confused, which would be removing less clear? The 66 by rotary at about 1200 rpm or the 83 on the PC on 5. 66 is a 4 on aggressiveness and 83 is a 6. I am also under the impression 66 is mostly (if not all) chemical cleaners, is this right?

BTW, after getting the swirls out of my driver finally 6 months ago all the swirls I managed to put back in to the paint all dissapeared with 66 at 1000 rpm so I think I'm doing pretty good.

    Hi Rick,

The #66 Quick Detailer does contain diminishing abrasives. I'm pretty sure the #83 from a formula point of view is more aggressive, but you can dramatically change the aggressiveness of a product by application material, foam, wool, cotton, etc. or and application process, hand, orbital, rotary.

The benefit to the #66 of course is it's also leaving behind wax protection which also leaves a very shiny finish.

#66 is stellar I don't have a really high end rotary($25 harbor freight one) But I find If I use #66 on the rotary followed by #66 on the DA, I can take out about 90%of the swirls on most customers, sometimes more. Once I finish my #83, I'll be ordering a gallon of this stuff. I think #66 is a really underappreciated product that might finally be coming into it's own.

Alright thanks for the replies. I think if 66 is cutting it I'll stick with it. It's deffinitely a way under mentioned product. I also topped it with some NXT so it came out just perfect. I think I finally found my process that I'm really happy with.
