  • D112 Super Soap?

I performed a global search for D112 and came up with one measly post regarding this product. What experiences have you had with it and how has it performed?

I recently found out that the clear coat on my 350z is extremely soft. A buddy and I performed a full exterior detail and the paint looked like a mirror. After just one wash the cobwebs were back. I used a sheepswool mit, Deep Crystal soap, and a Cobra waffle weave. The description for D112 sounds like the exact product I need:

This rich foaming car wash has special lubricating properties to help minimize scratching delicate clear coats. The foam is stable while washing and specifically designed to break down quickly when rinsing for extra speed and efficiency.
    Thank you!

I think the most lubricating would be Gold Class or #62 Shampoo.

I think I found the reason why you couldn't see it after reading a non-related post:

Hello eveyone! I have browsed the site a lot and love it so I made and account and here I'am. I have a question about what to buy, APC or Super degreaser. I have a 1998 z71 pickup that I have had for a long time and baby it. It has 80,000 miles on it. But I what to detail the engine bay but I dont know what to buy APC or

          Hey,

Apc+ is in a group of products that were for commercial use only and were to be sold in large quantities only through certain distribution centres. ADS carries the products and sells the products in individual gallons: APC+, Super Soap, Water Based Dressing and Solvent Based Dressing which are not in the Pro catalog for the reasons mentioned above.

          I hope this helps!

I'd highly recommend Shampoo Plus. Don't get me wrong, Super Soap is very nice, I love how quickly it breaks down when rinsing, Shampoo Plus seems to offer a bit more lube, which is extremely important for washing.

I have never tried it, but I wanted too but ADS was out. (A while ago)
                But Now ADS Has Some.
I hear great things about the soap.

Please don't take this the wrong way, as it is not meant to be a critisim in anyway, but it sounds like if you detailed your car and it had a mirror like shine and you washed it one time with great care and the cobwebs returned, then is it a possibility you merely filled them or masked them when you detailed it rather than removing them???

                  Again, just a suggestion.

That's sad too hear... especially after all this work...

The Deep Crystal Car Wash is our entry level car wash soap, it's a step up from dish-washing soap and works well to switch people from using dish-washing soap to car washing soap and hopefully after having a good experience with this product it my lead a person to upgrading to NXT or Gold Class.

If you're paint is soft enough to scratch easily just from careful washing that's not a good sign and while a quality car wash should help it probably won't fix the problem...

Not sure how deep you want to get with this but maybe try polishing out just the hood to perfection and then carefully wash it with Gold Class, rinse and blot dry. Minimize the number f times you move the wash mitt over the surface to just enough to loosen any surface dirt. If you ever watch people wash cars, often times they scrub the paint and move the wash mitt over the surface multiple, multiple times when all they really needed to do was make a pass or two. Not saying you're not doing this just posting an observation.

So are you saying Super Soap is the same thing as Deep Crystal Car Wash? If so I gotta send this gallon back, I was not happy with DCCW.

Definitely not! Super Soap and DCCW are two very different products.

Like others suggested, the professional #62 is very high in lubricity, as is Gold Class, and many like Shampoo Plus as well.

I will tell you this, one of my clients has a 2006 black 350Z and I did a full paint correction about a year ago when I got a sample of 106ff using a FLEX 3401 and PFW. It took 2-3 passes, but it got it 98% flawless. that was with a polish that is a step below a middle polish, and more like a finishing polish.

In other words, the one I detailed definitely has a soft clear as well.

That said, I did follow up washes for several months and the vehicle remained swirl free. I was using Gold Class soap in my bucket, the two bucket method, and Meguiar's microfiber wash mitts. I also used a Gilmour foam gun with a 50/50 mix of NXT and Gold Class soap to pre-soak it.

I used Meguiar's Waffle Weaves for drying towels, paying special attention at being very gentle.

Bottom line, with proper wash technique and products...even a soft clear can be washed without damage. Don't lose hope!

Very informative, thank you. Unfortunately the two bucket method is not available to me since I have to go to a DIY car wash.

Take your buckets, Grit Guards, mitts etc to the DIY car wash. I have spin on Gamma Seal lids on two 5 gal buckets (the cheap snap on lids also work but they don't hold up as well) so there's no spillage in transit. I take these to the local DIY coin op and wash all three of my cars there in the winter as long as it's above about 34F.

                              Eric,
Relatively close to you there is a DIY was on Culebra outside 410 that I have used that is very good. Shoot me an email/PM and I'll give you better directions if you like. You ever get your shelves up?
