For the D151 and Flex 3401 users, what pad and speed combination have you found to work best? I am using Lake pads and started out with a white polishing pad but moved to an orange (light cut) and seemed to get better results. This was using around speed 4 to 5. Just looking for a little input. Thnaks.

Re: D151/Flex question
What are you working on?
What are you trying to accomplish? (Remove swirls? Or Spread out a wax?)
Just to note, D151 is a cleaner/wax for production detail shops.
Be careful when using a cutting pad with an orbital polisher, on some paint systems, while the aggressive nature of a foam cutting pad may remove defects it also may leave the finish hazy or micro-marred when you're done. So test in a small area before going over the entire car.

Re: D151/Flex question
This is on my personel vehicle, a 2003 F-150, bright red. I have washed the truck religiously and it has only been waxed two times in its life - it has cob webbing problems, very few scrathes. Well maintained, just normal wear and tear from washing and drying. I have been using Menzerna products with excellent results, but I do not want to knock this out pretty quick this weekend and do not want to use a 3 step process (like I have been doing with Menz. stuff).

Re: D151/Flex question
I use it on a speed of 4-5 as well, but have not tried it with a cutting pad. On most paints if you start with a cutting pad you are going to have to follow it up with something less aggressive.
Be sure to do an IPA wipe down on your test spot to ensure there is no marring or holograms.
Any pics of the Mustang?

Re: D151/Flex question
OK, I got out in the garage last night and did this. I ended up using a white pad on 5 to 5.5. Tried 6 and the working time was reduced too much, it would dust quickly. Overall I am happy with the results as an AIO, it got about 85 to 90 percent of everything out.
As far as the Mustang, I can not find any digital pics of it, it is a 1970 Boss 302, Medium Lime Metallic (Metallic Green), 52,XXX mile original paint and interior car. Also is a drag pack car - came with 4.30 gears and a detroit locker, although I put a 5 speed in it to be able to drive it more.
