  • #16 & #20 in Canada!

Today was at napa asked to order some #16"discontinued"
What?.So then i asked to order some #20"discontinued"you gotta be kidding me .They are now superseeded to #26.Luckily the warehouse had some bottles of #20 and i orderd a couple.
Why are they no longer avialable in canada. So if you live in canada and like this stuff get it while you can.

Who makes the decision? Meguiar's Canada? Another alternative is using NXT Techwax (2 coats) and covering with 1 coat of #26.

Did you go to the one at Pickering? Have you tried Carquest at Lanstaff and Hwy. 7?

Did you call / e-mail Jeniffer at meguiar canada to confirm?

So what is going on in here Canada? I just started doing detailing hobby for my own 2 months ago. If more and more stuff are not available here, I cannot continue this weekend hobby anymore.

Which tire gel will they discontinue?

Could it be some type of Canadian regulation against certain ingredients?

I've dealt with the same thing, and I've heard a couple reasons for products being made unavailable. I know that if a manufacturer doesn't make bilingual product labels, the product can't be sold off the shelf in Canada anymore, even waaaay over here in BC. Thank you, Quebec!

I've also heard that some products contain chemicals that Canada does not allow across the border, but I'm less sure on that one. I ordered some #16 from my local Lordco in May, and they got it for me. I tried to order more in August, and was told the same as you - 'discontinued, substitute #26'.

My best bet now seems to be keeping a big list of stuff I can't get locally, then make a big online order once in a while. I finally got some more #16 this way, and some stuff from other product lines that I've been wanting to try. Not much else we can do, I suppose...

                        M16 & M20

Both of these products are still being made. Most likely the Napa store you went to can't not get them anymore from their warehouse. I suggest you call Meguiar's at the 800 number and order it. We will give you free shipping since you cannot find it in Canada! Hope this has helped!

TIME TO RISE-UP FELLOW CANUCKS !!! First I was unable to purchase a 04 pont GTO because it did not meet Canadian safety standards and now I discover our favorite Meguiars products are no longer available (not that any stores in Winnipeg ever carried a full line of Meg. products). What ever happened to FREE TRADE ! As luck would have it I`m only 1 hr away from the North Dakota border -----but I still cant import a GTO over the line

overhere in the netherlands,we have a strange situation too.
                              (very strange,in fact,unacceptable)

here we have meguiars headquarters for europe, and they only sell the consumer products, here in the netherlands, and the proff.stuff is only available via another company(non meg's)

                              he following situation is created:

i buy for a group of car parts shops, and get a discount, because we buy a lot of consumer products,a discount that makes a good profit( next to good products,we also want to make profit)
this is a margin i can work with.
when i need some pro stuff,i can order it via the other company, but because i don't buy so much,i'm getting a very low, unworkable discount, which puts meg's prof.stuff out of my business.
                              so here's what's happening:

we sell as much meguiars as we can,but when customers want to upgrade to proffessional stuff,i have to advice other brands, because alltough i would love to sell them meguiars,i cannot run a shop with the conditions they offer me on the proff.stuff.

and that's only because where not doing volume at the company who sells the proff.stuff.
and there is a large potential, just to trow some numbers, last year i sold more than 800 bottles of gold class wax,and that is just one product.

i think this strange situation is created by the fact that meg's europe is not so long here as the company who sells the proff. stuff, but it still is bothering me that i do business with meguiars, and they won't sell me everything the have, but just consumer products.

it's like the baker sends you to a barber shop,to get your bread.

sorry for the long story, but this is bothering with my feeling for commerce, and sometimes it comes on my path, and i have problems with this.
                              hope every one understands this.

                              bye

                              Rick
