  • Substitute for #83

In Australia I can't get #83 and am wanting to know what would be the product that most closely resembles it from an aggressiveness point. I'll be using a G220 and am needing to remove some RDS from an 8 year old car thats never been polished. The colourX worked well on the swirls but I need more cutting power.

It's not quite as aggressive, but you could go with #80 Speed Glaze (M-8032). It works to get out light to moderate below surface defects, and it's available in Australia. Use it with a Soft Buff Foam Polishing Pad (W-8006) and you should be in good shape.

Just to note, usually RIDS, that is Random, Isolated Deeper Scratches won't buff out or at least completely buff out using a DA Polisher, depends upon how deep they are.

You would be more effective to use your hand with some M105, possibly even wet-sanding the scratches out and then using the M105 to remove your sanding marks.

Because completely removing deeper scratches can sometimes be risky, you might be better off doing the best you can with some M80 as recommended above and live with what you can't completely remove.

Sorry, I misunderstood "RDS", Mike is absolutely correct. Disregard my prior post.

          Thanks guys
I can get some M80, not easily but I can, so will try that and review the results.
