  • First ADS order...suggestions?

    I am about to make my first ADS purchase

    What really finalized my decision to do so was when my local PBE store told me they do not carry the new 2.0 buff pads and they have no idea when they will.

    So here is what I am looking at:

    *Assortment of new 2.0 buff pads.
    *M 105 for heavy duty paint correction
    *M 83 for a lighter cleaner/compound
    *M 07 for a pure polish

    I am somewhat conflicted about what to purchase for an LSP:
    *M21
    *NXT 2.0
    I have done research on the 21 and I am sure that is what I am wanting to go with, but is it sufficient for an LSP? I hear people saying they want to put some sort of wax over the 21, but is this even necessary as far as protection goes?

    I am by no means a professional detailer nor am I aspiring to start a detail business anytime soon. I recently purchased a Makita and I'm just trying to get a good beginner's set up.

    I greatly appreciate all comments, suggestions, and criticisms.

    Thanks guys!

    Do you have #80 as well? That tends to be one of the main go to products, as it is milder than #83.

    Nxt 2.0 and #21 2.0 are effectively the same product, so no worries there. 2 thin coats of either is fine.

    It is really just a matter of what you might be missing from your local PBE store... We can certainly list lots of products to buy....

      Just get one of everything. Trust me you will end up with it anyway.

      I agree with Murr1525, #80 is almost a must have. Other than that are you looking for something to do a specific task? Not sure what you have covered already... tires, interior, glass, microfibers, applicators, etc.

        Can't go wrong with ADS! Rick won't steer ya wrong!

        +1 on #80

          Re: First ADS order...suggestions?

          Thanks Murr,

          I do not have 80, but I have multiple threads where people followed up 83 with 80. I am guessing it is becasue it is milder and therefore removes swirls. But the difference between 83 and 80 seems minimal, so should I just go with 80 instead? I am really not wanting to overlap products, if you know what I mean.

          I can purchase pretty much everything else from the PBE, however they don't carry many of these products in the smaller sample sizes, that is why I am chosing ADS.

          I know I can purchase a whole lot more (and I most definitely want to ), but for now I was hoping this would suffice...

              Check out D151 - Paint Reconditioning Cream. Lots of good reviews here on the forum, and saves on steps.

                D151 sounds great, and I was looking on picking that up next, as my dad was wanting me to clean up some of the cars on his lot once I get a good grasp of the rotary.

                I am wanting the aforementioned products due to the better outcome by doing eat step seperately. Thanks though voices !

                  +3 for the #80. Rick has a 6 pak special on the 2.0 pads. Its $59.95 for 6 of them. If your going to use the G100/110 to remove your lsp, I would add some microfiber bonnets to the order.Get at least 1 7207 pad and the micro bonnet for this step. good luck.

                      Re: First ADS order...suggestions?

                      Sal hit a lot of what I would get, at the expense of being redundant, here goes:

                      M80 -> Must get it + M83 because they are like the 1,2 punch. Least aggressive first (M80) if that doesn't work step up to M83.

                      M83 -> See above

                      Hyperdressing -> Amazing stuff.

                      APC -> Another amazing stuff.

                      105

                      151

                      ASD

                      #7 -> Don't anyone dare diss #7, we are in love.

                      NXT 2.0

                        No one has recommended any 40? Is APC/APC+ diluted a better solution?

                        Is it just me or do some of these products seem to overlap?

                          I just got mine and haven't used it yet, so couldn't give it my "stamp of approval" without trying it first.

                            Here is another question:

                            What is the main difference between the G110 and G100? I was planning on just getting the DA adapter for the Makita from dynabrade (2 tools in one :] ) But I found a really good deal on a NIB G100.

                              G110, updated the G100. I'm not sure from a specs point of view (if it increased power) or anything like that, but it is just the "newest" version.

                              I got mine a few months ago and love it. I don't know about the DA adapter but I think there was a post about it somewhere.
